The architectural solution involves arranging the required accommodation into linear elements set out on an east-west axis orientation as preferred in the guidance documentation. The Sports Hall is located adjacent to the site and school entrances to facilitate controllable community access and the possibility for enhancement of the facility for community purposes where desired. The ‘Special Needs Unit’ element of the design is likewise located adjacent to the school entrance but nonetheless fully integrated into the overall design and functionality of the school.
